We can only imagine how difficult this process is. We are honored to be considered as adoptive parents for this child. As an adoptee, Cristina has spent her entire life on the other side of this decision and knows firsthand the benefits and challenges it brings. We are open to varying levels of communication that you may wish to have and will always act in the best interest of the child.

We are both ready to be parents and are waiting for God’s plan to unfold in our lives so we can raise a wonderful child with all the love and support our family brings. Thank you for reading about our family. We wish you peace as you navigate this process.

Financial Support

Expectant mothers who choose to make an adoption plan may qualify for some level of financial assistance during their pregnancy. However, each person's situation and specific needs are different. Your adoption social worker can help you determine what level of assistance you qualify for and deserve. Many expectant mothers qualify for financial assistance to cover basic pregnancy and living expenses, including but not limited to - transportation reimbursement, utility assistance for phone, water, and electricity/gas, maternity clothing and supplements, etc.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

Spending Time Together

09/09/2021

Hi again! We just wanted to share a bit about why it is important to us to spend time together as a family. Our world and society can be hectic and it never stops! It's really easy to take work home with you, especially as remote work has become so prevalent during the pandemic. We really try to make a big effort to turn "off" work mode when we are at home. It can be hard to be "present" in the moment when we are constantly stimulated by devices and screens all around us. While those things can and are certainly helpful, we also want to be cognizant of the fact that they can become a harmful distraction. The child we raise will certainly be raised with a healthy dose of non-screen time because we will want them to connect with people, connect with the environment, and connect with the world and society that is right outside their doorstep. We believe in creating a nurturing environment that will leverage all positive aspects of technology and apply them to our childs life.  We hope this provided a small glimpse into our way of life and philosophy! Cheers, Mario + Cristina

Labor Day Vacation!

09/09/2021

Since the COVID pandemic took over our world in 2020, like so many others across the country, we haven't been able to see a lot of our family. We spent the summer of 2020 in Georgia with Mario's mom, and this year, Cristina's mom came up to visit us in Pennsylvania. So we were SO excited to finally take another road trip to visit family! We try to maximize our vacation time when we are fortunate enough to have it so we decided to drive overnight from NYC to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to stay with Cristina's mom in her oceanside condo! The drive was supposed to take 10 hours (it felt like it took DECADES), but we made it safe and sound! Since we've been here, we've taken our pups for walks on the beach, enjoyed the warm surf, and cooked some delicious meals to enjoy with our family. We enjoyed watching the start of the 2021 College Football season that started off with a big Georgia Bulldogs win! We were even fortunate enough to help save a wild shore bird, whom we affectionately nicknamed, Steve. Steve is a juvenile Clapper Rail who likely was separated from his family....

Summer Date Night!

08/08/2021

Hi! August is such a peculiar month because it's typically one of the hottest months of the year but there's not a major holiday during the month. But that doesn't bother us! We had a really great week. I was fortunate enough to work from home for two days which meant I could spend some extra and much-appreciated time with Cristina and our pups.  What is one of the best summer traditions? Ice cream!!! I LOVE ice cream. We found this really awesome ice cream parlor in the PA mountains that has some unique Peruvian flavors. That is special to me because my maternal grandpa was born and raised in Peru, so it was like Grandpa blessing me with a taste of his childhood. I got the Soursop and Guava flavors...yum!!! The parlor also has another unique flavor that is Cristina's favorite - LAVENDER! With these unique flavors, this place has become one of our favorite go-to date night stops this summer. We also just got to spend some quality time together which was a nice surprise for us and we went to the neighborhood pool one last time for the season. One of our favorite board games to play...
